Our Story
Jedda – n. little wild goose
(thank you, Papa Steve)
Ko Pūtauaki te maunga
Ko Rangitāiki te awa
Ko Ngāti Awa, ko Ngāi Tūhoe ngā iwi
I tipu ake au ki Ūawa,
i raro i te aroha o Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti
Jedda is art and apparel, made slowly, in small batches.
This project began at a time when painting became less about making something “good” and more about making it through.
Each piece starts as a hand-painted watercolour, inspired by the east coasts of Aotearoa and Australia. Think nostalgia, homesickness, salt air and the strange little ache of belonging to more than one place, or no place at all.
So keen to share this with you.
Ngā mihi,
Maria
